1) If picking a real tree, make sure it is fresh and green

2) Before placing your real tree in a stand, cut 2” from the base

3) Make sure your tree is at least 3 feet away from any heat source

4) Make sure your tree is NOT blocking an exit

5) Add water to your fresh tree daily
